A not so good control system...

My main flaw with the game is that it took too long to get familiar with the controls. Nine out of ten times I die is because I accidentaly pressed the wrong button, or pressed it too late. Especially on levels like the boss levels and the beginning of level 12, I want the controls to flow, and not that I have to think about what button to press when I change forms every time.
When you think of it, wouldn't it be better to just give one guy all those powers. There is no extra value at all in the guy constantly having to change forms, except for giving the game some kind of a ''theme''. The platforms where only one of the three forms (colours) can stand on don't give anything positive to the game IMO, since all you need to do for them is remember which of the ''JKL'' keys belongs to which colour.

I'd rather have a game which, after completing it, gives you the idea of having completed some hard but not impossible puzzles, instead of giving the idea that you finally know which key belongs to which colour.
It might be just me who is having trouble with the keys, but after completing a lot of levels, the control scheme has to be completely clear and easy to use in a game.

Apart from that, it's a fine game. The graphics are good, and you tried to make a good and original game. Though it's not completely glitch-less, ( Turning switches while invisible never worked for me, another glitch is on this page, a bit in the middle. Here he walked into walls while transforming on a place where the door normally stands: http://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic/1 035978/734 (Remove any spaces)) Overall an good game, but not too easy to play.

It's not very good...

It looks a lot like one of your previous games, fortunacus, called ''extreme building runner'', but then with other graphics, and some slight changes, and the upgrades instead of the dashing. This game missed some necessairy things though:

- The ability to make small jumps. Especially when you are a werewolf, you definitely need this. The wolf goes very fast, and since you can't jump over an entire building without crashing, you need to jump on each building you come across at least once. It's really wierd that you can't make small jumps, because it makes it unnecessairy hard, and not in a good way.

- The ability to change into a shark/harry while falling. Why can't you turn into them at that time? It's the best use of those books, so why isn't it allowed?

- A story. This one is quite important. Why is he running so fast? And why can't he stop? It would be nice if you had something to run for, or towards to. (Except for medals)

- Something negative for if you hit an object. (As in couch, parasol) Now, it's positive to hit an object, because it slows you down, so it makes the next jump easier. It doesn't even reset your streak! Quite self-explanatory.

Also, make the character less spastic when he runs on a collapsing building, and make the wolf powerup a bit less suicidal. Because I die twice as often with the wolf then as normal man. Next time, instead of doing the project in two consecutive days, work a day on a flash, sleep ten hours, and work another day and a half. The result will probably be better then. And your health will be better :D

I did like the mixing books idea though, but you definately have a lot to improve on.

A great game!

The best tactic, IMO, is to buy all three weapons ASAP, and then, when one of the three is overheating, switch to another one. This way you'll never have to wait for overheat.

A few improvement would be to make the instructions easier accessable. When I had forgotten how to switch weapons, I'd had to wait for the end of the level, save, refresh page, and then look for the instructions in the main screen. That should go easier.

Seems like a good game at first...

But once you play the game a few times, you'll notice it has way too many bugs. Really, the first time I played story mode, I really enjoyed the game. It has great graphics, and the variety is awesome. But after a while, I noticed a lot of bugs. Especially in the ''super diram'' game. In that game, you often can't jump to other platforms because you're too far away from them, you push platforms away with your feet, etc. But most importantly, you can't walk to the left. Sometimes, I jump over the finish, and then there is no way you can complete the stage anymore. If I continue walking and jumping to the right, there doesn't spawn another exit, and since I can't walk to the left, I can't finish it anymore. That's really frustrating, mainly because sometimes, when I land on the right edge of the finish pipe, the game doesn't end.

I noticed more bugs, once the whole game crashed. With some games I instantly died (Diram, monkey, reversor, button game), while with some games I can't die. Like the mammoth game, where I spammed the mouse on a single spot, and it said I had unfrozen the whole mammoth. Or the first asteroid game, where every rock just passes me.
There are relevant pictures of the glitches at the bottom of this page: http://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic/1 035978/724

Apart from the glitches, it's a really nice and mostly original game. I really enjoyed some of the games, like the calculator game (I once got 17 as the number I had to make :D), the mammoth game, and the whack-a-teeth game.

Here are some hints for some of the games:

- For the final fantasy like game, press right and then ''a'' to run from the battle with all four of your characters. If christ uses evangelise, you did it wrong.
- For the car race, my best tactic was just to stay at the right of the screen the whole time, it you're lucky you won't crash against any cars.
- For the asteroids 2 game, just hold the right and down key, and you won't be getting hit.

One thing you might want to change is that you can still see the outlines of the space picture if you cross to one direction on the second asteroid game. It's cuite ugly. I hope you can fix some of those bugs.

poxpower responds:

Weird I haven't seen any of those before. I'll look into it.

Quite a good game, but with some flaws.

I loved the graphics, and the time that has been put in this game, but there are also some things that could've been better.

Let's start with the things I liked: Most importantly, the graphics. They were pretty good. The minigames were very clever too, there was a lot of variety in them. They weren't too hard, and the time needed for the gold medal was good. The little sound in there were pretty good too. And I really liked the tank levels. They were great.
The tank levels had it's negative points too. The first tank sometimes throws it's bombs outside the playing field. I can't run there, so somewhat wierd that I can't run there, but he can just throw his bombs outside of the field. With both tanks, as mentioned earlier, you can just be pushed in a corner, unable to do anything and him taking off about 25 seconds. I didn't like the fact that you had to mash space nearly all the time too. For the running levels it's okay, but in levels like the tank levels, it was very irritating that you have to press space all the time. I think the concept isn't that great too. I've seen enough ''kill bieber'' games for my life. Although the Barcalona element in it makes it somewhat original again. So mixed opinions about that.
Apart from that, it only missed an retry button in the pause menu, so you don't have to quit and watch the intro of each level again.

Ceartainly some things to improve. Good luck!

fortunacus responds:

thanks for the feedback, i just added retry button on pause menu

Not that much improvement

It was practically just your previous game, but then with other characters. And indeed, the hint is often way too vague. Maybe you can get, for a second hint, more info, or the first (few) letters of a character. Or the character in colour.
The only improvement was the ability to skip questions with the ''esc'' button, and get hints with enter.
Also, I got the ''all pokermanz encountered'' with still three characters unknown.

You're wrong on one point

I don't think your medals stay zero points because it has some ripped characters, i think they stay 0 points because you use the same shooting minigames over and over again, you use the characters over and over again, and because the graphics are pretty bad. Try to do something different than the same type of game over 10 times. I found it pretty good that you switched to games like bieber metamorph (even if it was voice acting), but now you're doing these button games again. I like that you didn't made any ''jokes'', because they only fail anyway. Try to take less pictures from the internet, like the store and the beach, because the resolution is even worse than your self-made characters. Try to put some effort in good, not self-repeating backgrounds, and it will surely get a higher rating.

What I did like was how long it is. It isn't as short as some other games of these sorts. But because it's so long, maybe you can use continues, so I don't have to start all over again when I lose a battle or something. Because there, you don't have three lives.

Come up with some clever ideas for puzzles by yourself, and until then, continue voice acting.

BanglaBoy96 responds:

1st of all, Using the same characters over and over again isn't exactly bad if I made all of them, I'm always making new characters and The reason I used them is because this story is based on all of them planning revenge on the gamer.
As for the beach picture, I took that in Bangladesh so It's not stolen.

Thanks for the complimenting on the voice acting, But I'm going to continue making games because it's a fun hobby and I enjoy it, Thanks for the review

Gaah

It has quite good, or at least acceptable graphics, but that's not why I give this such a low score. It's for two things. The first one is the ''O P X'' controls. It wasn't confusing for me, but it didn't add anything for me. One level with these controls is okay, but 4 levels? That just makes it irritating.

The second one, and the most important one, is the falling through platforms. If you started the level over again, it wasn't so irritating. But when you fall through platforms on, lets say, the end of the seventh level when you play the game for the second time, (Yes, you have to play the game twice to get the medal.) it's not fun when you fall through a platform, and don't die, and so fall endlessly into a pit. If you added a ''restart level'' button, this problem will be solved. But until then, I have no intentions to start this game again.

VioletVulpine responds:

The controls was part of the handicap.
Thx for review

Too easy

guess 500. If it's lower, do 500/2. If it's higher, do 500*1.5
Do it again: If it's higher, do X (=the number you just calculated) *1,5. If it's lower, do X/2. With this method, you will never have to guess more than 9 times.

Quite easy once you know the routine

Run towards the enemy, press ''S'', and you perform a jump attack that the opponent can't block, even when he attacks you. When he is stunned for a while, run to the other side and repeat. With this tactic, you can beat skill level 10 guys without losing HP. Don't use your special attack, and really dont try a close fight for a while.

Though it's really easy, i think it deserves a score above the 3.40. It has good and funny graphics, and works fine for me. Although the ''100p'' cheat doesn't work. (Or does it say anything else after the 100p, that I can't read?)

Kwing responds:

With every game there are usually exploits... Even console games. Perhaps I could have used some system for style points... But if you'd used the entire abundance of still and moving attacks, I think you'd have enjoyed it more. Exploitation may be efficient but it's not very fun.

Grr, no spoilers. But... *Rolls eyes* the cheat is l00p, with an L.
