Not so good

I think it's quite bad. Mario, the only character in the game, has only four or five sprites, the background is only one picture, the only thing you can do is run and jump, and you have only three enemies, the boss included. Another bad thing is that it's too short. I beat it in only 40 seconds. You can improve all of these things. Also, make a use for the coint you can collect. Make a shop so you can buy boots that lets you jump on enemies or buy health bonuses, or at least make a medal for getting all 115 points.

And for the people who can't defeat the boss, touch the heart on the back side for about two seconds.

Working to get better!

Original!

An great and original game. I like the sounds, and the text boxes too. But I have a few points of improvement for you. The first is that it may be better if you made more of a story instead of ''stuck behind a truck'' and ''getting some coffee''. If you do that, it would be more of a game instead of a link of puzzles. Another point is that it's better if you say 10 seconds before the bomb detonates ''detonation in 10 seconds'' or something like that. That way I don't have to look at the timer often to know how much time I have left, and that makes it more exciting too. A third way to improve the game is to make the quality higher. Not only because it looks pretty, but mostly to make the buttons clearer. Sometimes, on fields with a lot of buttons (40 or so), buttons that are the same look slightly different, so you can think they are not the same. My last hint is to make a time bonus. I don't know if it shows the time you was busy with the bombs at the end because I was too slow to complete the level with the letters, but I would like to have a score depending on the time collapsed and the amount of times you failed to disarm a bomb within the time limit.

Except for these points, it is a great game, and I would like too see more variations of games of these sorts.

DavidXN responds:

All good thoughts! Thanks for leaving your commentary. At the end of the game, you're told your total time spent and can submit it to Mochi (and I'm frankly amazed that someone's already done it in about four minutes, because my own record's closer to five).

This game just leapt into my head this week and was a quick project, but I wonder if I could do another one with the same characters but multiple routes and clues to track down the villain, Carmen Sandiego-style...

Not very good

I didn't like it that much. I would like to see more movement of the character, instead of him only moving his feet. It also could be improved if you made more variation in the level design. I also found a glitch: you can stand im the chinese guys in the first level without getting hit. But the most important thing that can be improved is the jumping. I quitted this game because of that. The jump system is programmed that if you are on the edge of the platform, the yak doesn't jump but instead falls straight into the pits, and if you are too far away, you don't make it, and you jump into the pits too. Because of that I often miss the first or the second jump in the first level. What irritates me too is that you can't defeat the enemies. Come on, a yak who gets killed by a seagull. That's not fair. So make it possible to jump on it, kick it, at least there must be something you can do. And the bosses are boring too. At least the first one is. I mean, stand in the middle and jump over the samurai 30 times, and then he kills himself. What's the fun of that? Again, make it possible to jump on him. Also, make continues. That way, you can retry a level more times, so your chances of survival for the next time are higher. For example: After I was game over due to the eskimo hehind the ice pillar in the second level, I knew he was there. But then I needed to complete the first boring but glitchy level again, before I was able to get there again. And I didn't want to do that all again.
The positive points are that the yak is cute and that the music fits well. But the game has too much glithches to be entertaining. I'm sorry.

MonoFlauta responds:

Come on, a yak that travels around the world... its that the game doesnt have sense!

I think that most of problems you discrebe are practice ones... you need to practice to win it easy... i can win it without cheating (because it doesnt have cheats) and loosing one or two life... see the walktrough... you will see its not an impossible game and the problems you are telling to me are just practice one

Great game!

A great game, and I really like all the jokes. For the people who didn't understand the brawl reference: in brawl you sometimes trip, that happens there too. And for the bagel medal, click the bagels that sometimes appear. For example, one of them is on the shelf when you use drill > opacitator.

PuffballsUnited responds:

Yeah, you understand the brawl reference! I'm starting to think it was too vague.

Wow

Really great. This really brings back memories. I've played pokemon silver for over 160 hours, but I've never known that so many city's and roads have the same sound. Like the ruins of alph, Seafoam islands, victory road, the route beneath it, the caves in eastern Kanto and more! I liked how you kept the old sounds, and the design was simple, but perfect. I would be even better if you stopped the music, if you clicked another town/road. Although it is fun to listen to the mixed-up sounds.
This really deserves a 10. Great work!

OpiumNinja responds:

I will be making another soundboard, with many improvements over the first, as soon as I learn flash more, I'll start on it

I like it

I like it, especially because you can't find a video escape game elsewhere on Newgrounds. By the way, for the people who can't finish the plane part, here's a hint. You can finish that part with the ''Tab, space, Tab, space'' method.

Fro responds:

I do the one casual and calm click for each cloud. It's quite easy.

Good

But i've found two glitches. At the Doduo game, if you keep pressing the right button and jump over the first horde, you'll end up against the right ''wall''.
If you stay there, you can't get hit. This is the same with the Dragonite game.
Overall a nice game, but a little too small.

StillBeatingPictures responds:

Seems an odd place to move the characters :P
I think it could be because of the instance names clashing or something.

It's only MEANT to be a small game, a quick one to kill a little time, but can be replayed with variations.
Thanks for the review.

Good game

I think it's really a good game, but you need to do something with the text.
It looks like you put it in a bad translating machine on the internet.

eewgames responds:

Yes... i need help with this

It needs instructions

Well, first I want to say that it can be a really be a fun game, but not without instructions. The instructions are:

When you see the red and green lights, wait until the green lights light up. Press spacebar as soon as you can, and the race begins. You can steer only to the left. (Counterclockwise) If you press the spacebar, you steer to the left. If you let it go, you go forward. If you touch the inner green part, you lose immediately. The goal is to be the first to finish the four laps.

Now for the review: The game mechanism is quite good, but you really need to put more stuff in the game. If you win the race, there is no motivation to continue, because you don't unlock more stuff and the only thing you hear is a quiet ''bwo-bwa''. Also the background is way too simple. The whole track is made out of only three colors. And to save your highscores, you need to play it on another site, and make an account there.

I really hope you can put instructions in the game and improve these things, because the game mechanism is good.

gameonade responds:

Thank you for a help with correct instruction.
I used your description and put it in the game. I hope that you are ok with that.

If not, please let me know.

I will think about newest version where there will be something like tournament and some more tasks to do between races.

Good game

But I think it would be a better game if you saw it from a different angle, like from the top of the machine.

DAXSDESIGN responds:

But I think than it would be to easy...
